The Bob Marley Museum is a museum in Kingston, Jamaica, dedicated to the reggae musician Bob Marley.
The museum is located at 56 Hope Road, Kingston 6, and is Bob Marley's former place of residence. It was home to the Tuff Gong reggae record label which was founded by The Wallers in 1970. In 1976, it was the site of a failed assassination attempt on Bob Marley's life.
Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, is located on the southeastern coast of the island. There are two major sections to this city: 'downtown' and 'uptown,' also referred to as 'New Kingston.'
Kingston was for some time Jamaica's only city and is still the commercial and
cultural capital. You will notice that the city is assigned the equivalent of zip codes, (Kingston 5, Kingston 10, etc.) which is a good representation of how truly large this city is, especially for an island such as Jamaica.
